On January 8th, the preliminary review meeting for the construction plan of the new city museum (site at No. 68, Chaoyang East Road) was held in the conference room on the second floor of the Municipal Cultural Bureau. The judges participating in the preliminary review meeting are: Ding Xiaoyu, Xu Huping, Ni Ming, Lu Jing, Zhou Jinping, Li Xiaoqian, etc. The units participating in the design plan are: Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Southeast University, Lianyungang Mine Design Institute, Municipal Architectural Design Institute, Canada Seven units. Preliminary review by the judges: Southeast University, Tongji University, and Canada's design plans are among the top three. On January 14th, the city museum changed the soaking solution for the ancient corpses of the Shuanglong Han Tomb for the fourth time. On the same day, the "Shuanglong Han Tomb Archaeological Achievement Exhibition" was launched.
On February 11, Li Zhijian, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the National Sports Commission, visited the city museum to visit the ancient corpse of the Tomb of Shuanglong Han.
From March 15 to April 4, two wooden tombs of the Han Dynasty were discovered on the construction site of the Huagaishan Nanyang International School in the development zone. After excavation, exploration, and cleaning, a number of cultural relics such as wooden figurines, dove sticks, clay pots, and seals were unearthed.
On April 19th, the city’s first tour guides cultural guide contest sponsored by the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Municipal Tourism Bureau, and the Municipal Cultural Bureau, our museum Zhang Dongqing, Wang Qun, and Gao Haiyan won the second and third prizes and the Excellence Award.
On May 23, the Municipal Museum collected a newly unearthed component from the 25th year of the Republic of China at the construction site of the Heping Bridge Widening Project on East Jiefang Road.
On the morning of June 6, the Municipal Museum held a research seminar on the anatomy of the ancient corpse of the Shuanglong Han Tomb. It was organized by Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing Public Security Bureau Criminal Science and Technology Research Institute, Shanghai Remains Antiseptic Research Institute, Municipal First People’s Hospital, and Provincial Culture Experts and leaders from the Cultural Relics Department of the Office, the Municipal Cultural Bureau, and the Municipal Museum participated. After the measurement was completed in the afternoon, the autopsy of the ancient corpse began in the evening and ended at 11:30 in the evening. Reporters from many media including the city’s TV station, Times, Evening News, Xinhua Times, Yangtze Evening News, etc. were present to report.
On the morning of June 19, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new city museum was held in Xinpu New District. Hundreds of people including Wu Jiaqing, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda, Zhu Taizeng, deputy director of the National People's Congress, Yang Li, deputy mayor, Dong Shuwang, vice chairman of the CPPCC, Wang Huifen, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Culture, and Xu Huping, director of the Nanjing Museum, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

On the same day, the Fujian Provincial TV Station "Social Archives" program team came to the city museum to shoot a feature film on the ancient corpse of the Tomb of Shuanglong Han.

On the morning of September 8, the Municipal Museum held a donation ceremony for Yanhan’s new large-scale woodcut work. On December 26, to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Mao Fadong, the Municipal Bureau of Cultural Affairs held the "City Young and Middle-aged Calligrapher's Poems and Mao Zedong's Fine Art Exhibition" at the Municipal Museum. 2004-2006 October-December 2004, Nanjing Museum, Lianyungang Museum Archaeology Department and Municipal Cultural Management Office jointly conducted investigations and excavations of fine stone cultural sites from the late Paleolithic age at Jiangjunya in Jinping Town. That year ( In 2004, more than 300 pieces of related specimens such as fine stone tools were unearthed. From December 2005 to January 2006, the original exploration site continued to dig down to the bedrock, and the original local topography and characteristics were initially clarified. After preliminary screening of specimens, thousands of original stone products were obtained. The stone tools used include flint, quartz, crystal, and agate, mainly flint, and small in size. According to their purpose, they can be divided into scrapers and pointed objects. These stone tools have traces of use and repair. The age is about 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. During the third excavation from April to June 2006, a new exploratory was opened near Taohuajian, and at the same time, the expansive study of the relics that appeared in the first excavation, the new data is still being sorted out.
