The Han tomb in Danxia Village, Yuntai Township, which has attracted much attention from all walks of life, has been cleaned up recently.

  On the morning of December 16, the Municipal Museum received a report that an ancient tomb was suspected to have been found in Danxia Village, Yuntai Township, Xinpu District, and archaeologists rushed to the scene to investigate.

  The site is located in a residential area of Danxia Village on the slopes of Nanyuntai Mountain. According to the informant, Mr. Liu, it was discovered during the well digging process. The outer coffin and part of the roof of the tomb have been exposed. The protection work is urgent. . The Municipal Museum quickly reported the situation to the provincial and municipal cultural relics departments and formulated corresponding protection measures. After obtaining the approval of the cultural relics departments, the clean-up work was organized in an orderly manner.

  The tomb is a small vertical hole earthen pit wooden coffin tomb in the Western Han Dynasty. The tomb chamber was built on the rock mass, divided into two coffin chambers, the north and the south, with a 30 cm thick natural rock mass as a beam in the middle, and a coffin was buried with the head facing the east. The coffin in the north is relatively broken, and the cover has rotted and collapsed. The coffins in the south are well preserved, and there are no burial objects in the two coffins except for the remains of the tomb owner.

  This area belonged to a large island on the sea in the Han Dynasty, and some Han tombs have also been discovered in history.
